Do I have to complete the Menopause Care Professional Certificate (MCPC) before applying for the Menopause Care Professional Diploma (MCPD)?

If you are starting your Menopause Care learning journey, you will need to complete the MCPC or a recognised equivalent first. We currently recognise any of the following as sufficient training for the purpose of MCPD registration:

  • The FSRH Menopause Care Professional Certificate (MCPC)
  • The Special Skills Module (SSM) in Menopause Care at a Basic Certificate level.
  • The BMS Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care (PPMC). (Please note that the PPMC Course alone is not sufficient.)

Please note that the MCPC contains more content on trauma-informed care than the SSM or PPMC, and so all MCPD candidates entering via these alternative routes must ensure their skills and knowledge in this area are up to date. In addition, the MCPC contains more content on mental health than the PPMC, so candidates entering from the PPMC must ensure that their skills and knowledge in this area are up to date.

All candidates are encouraged to be members of the FSRH in order to access the many resources and opportunities available to members. Any MCPD candidates who have not achieved the MCPC must be FSRH members when they register for the MCPD.
