UK candidates are eligible to enter for the Part I examination when you have obtained your medical degree and are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). You will be asked to provide a copy of your medical degree certificate and photo identification at the point of application.
For international candidates, a GMC registration number is not required if you are not working or training in the UK, and applications are approved on a case-by-case basis. You will be asked to provide your registration number from your local medical registration body which should be similar with GMC (this should align with the country where you are currently practising or training), a copy of your medical degree certificate and photo identification at the point of application.
The examination is not exclusive to clinicians practising in CSRH. However, active clinical practice in this area is recommended given the nature and intensity of this exam.
