The system requirements depend on the examination that you are sitting.

For Part I and Part II KAT, you will be required to have a computer and a mobile phone, the minimum system requirements for remotely invigilated exams are:

Computer requirements:

  • A Laptop or Computer (Tablets are not accepted).
  • The latest ChromeOS or Windows 10/11 or MacOS (the latest two macOS releases) operating system.
  • Intel Core i3 (or equivalent) and at least 4 GB RAM.
  • A working webcam (integrated or separate) that can be used to scan the room, microphone, and speakers.
  • Internet connectivity with continuous internet speed of a minimum of 1.5 Mbps upload speed, 10 Mbps download speed and Ping under 25 ms.
  • We strongly recommend you use an ethernet cable to connect your device to ensure a stable connection.
  • Screen with resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, or higher. Second monitor are not allowed.
  • Installed the latest version of Google Chrome browsers, other browsers will not be able to support the exam platform.
  • We strongly recommend you do NOT use any company or NHS devices for this exam, as most have restriction / rules which will block the access to the exam platform.

Mobile Phone Requirement:

  • For Android users, AndroidOS 5.1, or higher; for Apple users, iOS 10.0, or higher; other mobile operating systems are not accepted.
  • Please check if you can download and open “ProctorExam” app from your App tore or Google Market.
  • Huawei P30, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016), and Google Pixel 3 and newer are NOT compatible with the “ProctorExam” app.
  • The mobile device should be placed at least one meter away from you and be situated upright.
  • Your mobile device must be able to connect to WiFi and be fully charged or plugged in.

For Part II OSCE, the minimum system requirements for remotely invigilated exams are:

  • Laptop or PC only – Osler Online will currently NOT work with tablets or mobile devices
  • NHS work laptops/desktops should not be used as they can block webcam/ microphone permissions, which interferes with the program
  • Windows or Mac operating systems only
    • Windows 7 or newer
    • Sierra 10.12 or newer
  • Webcam and microphone enabled
  • If using headphones, over the head headphones should be used. Headphones with a microphone in the cord, e.g., iPhone headphones, should not be used as they can scratch off clothes and hair and cause feedback.
  • Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768.
  • Bandwidth for Osler Online is 10mbps download and 4mbps upload.

Please note that all requirements will review regularly, you will receive the latest requirement details once you applied for the MFSRH exam and confirmed by the Specialty Training Team.
