For “family history of VTE” does it just mean first degree relatives? Is this an unprovoked VTE or any VTE? (e.g related to post-surgery)

Venous thromboembolism (VTE)

This sub-condition relates to first degree relatives. But clinicians should use clinical judgement if a woman has several second degree relatives who have had a VTE event.

The sub-condition includes any VTE event, as individuals with post-surgical VTE may have an underlying hereditary thrombophilia.
